There are undoubtedly a lot of challenges that come with being a single mum. But on the flip side, there are also some incredibly proud moments. At the start of the separation journey, words from those who are further down the road can really help. With that in mind, and to mark this Mother’s Day, I wanted to share some proud mum moments from five single mums. Here’s a few of the proudest single mum moments that were generously shared.
Seeing my children not only grow, but thrive, and knowing that I am able to independently support them - financially and emotionally.
- Nicole, Brisbane
Proudest single mum moment is realising that although becoming a single mum was hard, my kids are thriving and I can do this!!!
- Kerry, Adelaide
My proudest moments would be the many times my son exhibits his independence. It is a constant reminder to me that I am raising an individual person who will make his own decisions when older and will choose his own path in life.
- Victoria, Darwin
My proudest moment would be scaling my business from a one woman show to having 10 people work for me post the separation and having my daughter tell me she sees how hard I work and that I will be great one day. I think that with me doing something I am passionate about will motivate her to do the same.
Everyday raising my girls and trying to improve our current situation. Life is good, we have challenges but I’m always present and work around their needs and school hours.
- Kylie, Hunter Valley
